16'0" rods are most effectively used on our larger rivers.

They are best used on rivers that will demand maximum distance deliveries that will reach consistently in excess of 120' over the entire day.  They are best used on big rivers that will have long runs of perfect speed and even flow hydraulics ideal for side step swing presentations, runs of a length that each may take an entire morning, or evenings fishing to cover effectively.

If these are the type of waters that you are fortunate enough to have in your fishing world then the 16'0" rod may be of consideration.

Both of the Classic and S series 16'0" Highlanders are fine distance casting tools, suitable for all game fish from 8 to 30 pounds. The Highlander Classic will deliver a full spectrum of line systems with equal efficiency.

When compared to the Highlander Classic; the S series rod will be slightly less weight in hand. She will have slightly more flex in the top 1/3 and a bit less flex in the bottom 2/3 so will be ideal for those anglers that desire a tip flex rod for launching extreme distance Scandi shooting head deliveries over big waters.
